“Partnership Beyond Performance“
Raised with a hoofpick in one hand and a pitchfork in the other, Jess has never known a life without hard work and horses. Spending her childhood going from barn to barn with her single-mom who was a natural horsemanship trainer in her own right, Jess grew up learning to look at horses as “puzzles”, rather than just a list of problems the owner was wanting resolved. This perspective of viewing each horse to have certain qualities that need to be figured out and understood, rather than needing to be “fixed”, is what continues to fuel Jess’ philosophy of “Horses first, Dressage second” to this day. This passion for understanding how each horse and student in her program perceives the world around them and how each individual learns is tightly intertwined with her unwavering commitment to good horsemanship and the maintenance of a supportive, educational environment for all who walk through the barn door. Jess’ intense passion for understanding doesn’t stop there, as she continues furthering her own education as a rider, trainer and competitor by working regularly with Olympic Bronze medalist and Elite Athlete Ali Brock.
As a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist with Distinction, Jess is prepared to take on any challenge that a horse or client may present - with determination, tenacity, and commitment to help everyone involved using all resources and skills she has to offer.
